Sue Farrell Holler writes for children of all ages – from preschool to young adult.

Her YA novel, Cold White Sun, was a 2019 finalist for a Governor General’s Award literary award. The novel, based on the true story of an illegal refugee, also won an Alberta Literary Award — the R. Ross Annett Award for Children’s Literature and a U.S-based High Plains Book Award.

Her other titles include the middle grade novel Lacey and the African Grandmothers that’s set on a First Nation’s reserve, and three picture books. Her latest work is “Raven, Rabbit, Deer,” which introduces Ojibwemowin vocabulary. “Finding Moose” is set for publication in the spring of 2022.

A journalist by profession, she writes books for children that acknowledge our critical need for human connection.

Her work for adults as a feature writer and newspaper humour columnist has appeared in local, regional and national publications.

Sue is an experienced and engaging presenter who most recently took part in the virtual 2020 and 2021 Cenovus Wordpower tours, was a presenter with TWUC’s 2020 Writers-in-the-Schools program and a presenter for Read-in Week with an Edmonton elementary school.

    Lorna Schultz Nicholson has two books being released fall 2019. Just Three is a hi-lo Orca Currents novel, and can be compared to a modern day Parent Trap.  PK Subban: Amazing Hockey Stories (Scholastic) is a non-fiction complete with text, photos and graphics.
