Available in Ontario until February and for library visits over the winter break. Brooke has illustrated over 8 picture books including award winning Fishermen Through & Through, and recent Blue spruce nominee The Little Boy Who Lived Down the Drain. Brooke’s passion for drawing started when she was very young and she hopes to share some of that excitement with young readers.
Brooke’s main focus is exploring creativity and encouraging imagination. Her goal is to inspire children to trust their instincts and not to follow “rules” when creating their own characters or illustrations. Brooke is a lively and fun presenter who loves interacting with children. Her presentations are tailored to the age group and Brooke is happy to discuss content with educators beforehand. Typically, Brooke will start with a traditional reading of one of her books, followed by a discussion or presentation of her creative process. Older kids will get a more detailed look into book making. All sessions will finish with some hands-on creative fun. Maximum group size: 30 for optimal interaction. All venues. Equipment required: easel, chair, paints or markers/ paper
