Marty Chan is coming to Ontario the first week of May to tour schools and libraries. If you saw him at the OLA Super Conference, you know he’s an engaging and funny presenter. Marty has a special offer for the OLA delegates who attended his session. Mention you saw him at the OLA when you book and he’ll send a collection of his books.
Visit subsidies available! Go to Marty’s page for more information and to access his contact form.
“Markham, Ontario, is hosting Rogers Hometown Hockey on the weekend of March 3-4, 2018. If you’re a school or library looking for a hockey-themed visit on March 1 or 2, author Eric Zweig would love to help! All travel costs will be waived if two or more sessions are booked for those days.”
We encourage our members to join the Writers’ Union. Why? Because then they’re eligible for subsidies for Ontario school visits. As an example, if a half day visit would normally be $500 plus travel, a subsidized visit would cost only $400 for the half day and most travel would be covered. As you can imagine, these subsidies get snapped up quickly! Currently, there are a few subsidies still available for presentations that take place before March 31, but you must apply 4 weeks in advance, so time is of the essence!
For your convenience, here’s an index of our presenters who are Writers’ Union members. For bookings before March 31, please request Ontario-based presenters. There’s a contact form on each author’s page.
Beat the February Blahs! René Schmidt will be in the GTA area during the first two weeks of February (so transportation costs are reduced) and is offering a three for two deal: Schools booking two or more sessions with René will receive a third session free.
