Become a Media Master
Grades: 4-8 Size: 60 students max. Length: 60 min (flexible)
Learn how media works to influence what we buy, wear, eat and talk about. Using my graphic novel, Media Meltdown, videos and interactive games, students learn the tricks advertisers use to sell their products and how we can all be media makers to create our own messages.
Panel Power: How Comics are Made

Dive into the world of comics to see how writers and illustrators team up to turn ideas into full colour graphic novels. Each presentation includes an interactive reading of “Max Finder Mystery Theatre” and a hands-on look the scripts and sketches writers and illustrators create before moving on to the final draft. Writing tips, advice and a Question and Answer session are all included too. Each student will also receive a bookmark (while supplies last.)
Maximum number of students per session: 60 (2 classes)
I can be flexible.. My talks use a lot of handouts (actual artwork in progress, scripts, etc), so my talks are best suited for mid size groups.
